Ligia studied piano at the Thibaud-Piazzini Conservatoire and piano, viola, and Music Education at the Julian Aguirre Conservatoire in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a private student she continued studying viola with Roberto Regio.
She has reached the 10TH degree in piano and the 12TH degree in double entry organ at Yamaha Music Argentina.
In 2004, she received a full scholarship to study music education and viola performance at the University of Southern Mississippi. She participated in the USM Symphony Orchestra playing with Carmelo de los Santos, Alejandro Drago, Julia Bushkova, Nadja Salerno-Sonnernberg, Joshua Bell, Patti LaBelle, Dionne Warwick, Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway, and Placido Domingo.
Her professional experience included more than fifteen orchestras from Argentina, Brazil and United States.
As a teacher, she taught in kindergarten and public schools for eight years, in Argentina, and she also worked four years teaching keyboards in Yamaha Music Academies. From 2001 to 2004 she was in charge of her own music workshop for children, private lessons of violin, piano and keyboards.
In United States, she was a violin and viola teacher for the USM String Program in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She also coached chamber groups for Divertimento and Summer String in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Ligia holds a degree in Music Performance from UND and is a Kindermusik certified teacher. She is also a member of The Suzuki Association of America (SAA), The American String Teacher Association (ASTA), The American Viola Society (AVS), The College Music Society (CMS), and The National Association for Music Education (MENC). She is also a member of NOVAC's board of directors.
Ligia is currently working at Arioso Music Academy, as Kindermusik and Suzuki teacher. She is the co-founder of STEP (Suzuki Talent Education Program) and the director of Allegro (NVYO)
She lives in Grand Forks, ND, with her husband Alejandro, and their children Mirko and Mila.
